چکیده

Plant disease management is key to sustainable production of staple food crops. Calcium (Ca2+) signal and phytohormones play critical roles in regulating plant defense responses against pathogens. The Ca2+ signals are sensed, decoded transduced by calmodulin other -binding proteins, followed interaction with modulation activities target proteins such as calmodulin-binding (CBPs). Members the Arabidopsis CBP60 gene family, AtCBP60g AtSARD1, have emerged major regulators immune responses. In this study, we identified a 15 member family rice (Oryza sativa) which OsCBP60g-3, OsCBP60g-4, OsCBP60a OsSARD-like1 genes were consistently upregulated seedlings response infection both fungal (Magnaporthe oryzae) bacterial (Xanthomonas pathogens well salicylic acid (SA). OsCBP60g-4 OsCBP60g-3 induced maximally SA brassinosteroid (BR), respectively, was expressed at 3-fold higher levels M. oryzae resistant genotype (IC-346004) compared susceptible (Rajendra Kasturi). considerable expansion immunity clade up-regulation several OsCBP60 hormones supports importance further investigating targets for increasing resistance rice.

Putative Calmodulin-Binding R2R3-MYB Transcription Factors in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Calmodulins (CaMs) are calcium-binding proteins playing vital roles in signal transduction regulating many aspects of plant development as well as responses to environmental stimuli by interacting with various classes of their binding partners including transcription factors (TFs). An increasing number of CaM-binding TFs have been identifi ed and characterized in Arabidopsis. However, a limited...

Correlation Studies in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Seventy genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L.) were evaluated during Kharif 2012 to study the nature and extent of correlation among yield and yield attributing characters, days to 50 per cent flowering, days to maturity, number of effective tillers per plant, plant height, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight, grain yield per plant, kernel length, kernel breadth and L/B...

OsMSR2, a novel rice calmodulin-like gene, confers enhanced salt tolerance in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

OsMSR2 is a novel calmodulin-like gene in rice. Previous study has been demonstrated that OsMSR2 was a cold, drought and heat-inducible gene. However, the role of OsMSR2 in rice stress response is still unclear. To reveal the function of OsMSR2 involved in stress response, the expression pattern and effects of overexpression of OsMSR2 on salt stress were analyzed in rice. Quantitative real-time...

A putative acyl-CoA-binding protein is a major phloem sap protein in rice (Oryza sativa L.).

The N-terminal amino-acid sequence of a major rice phloem-sap protein, named RPP10, was determined. RPP10 is encoded by a single gene in the rice genome. Its complete amino-acid sequence, predicted from the corresponding rice full-length cDNA, showed high similarity to plant acyl-CoA-binding proteins (ACBPs). Western blot analysis using anti-ACBP antiserum revealed that putative ACBP is abundan...

The extent of linkage disequilibrium in rice (Oryza sativa L.).

Despite its status as one of the world's major crops, linkage disequilibrium (LD) patterns have not been systematically characterized across the genome of Asian rice (Oryza sativa). Such information is critical to fully exploit the genome sequence for mapping complex traits using association techniques. Here we characterize LD in five 500-kb regions of the rice genome in three major cultivated ...
